Inside this grandiose structure lies a stunning interior with richly decorated marble floors and walls, intricate stained glass windows depicting Biblical scenes, lavish columns adorned with intricate carvings and several breathtaking chapels dedicated to particular saints or events from Christian history. There are also various sculptures throughout including a magnificent Pietà in the entrance hall which was carved by renowned Belgian artist Antoine Dewasme.
